A 22-year-old navigating her way through adulting while trying to use this site as a leverage to journal my fleeting, incoherent thoughts into something that makes sense. Open to all conversations and constructive criticism.

‘I want to go outside again.’ ‘I wish I didn’t take the times for granted.’ ‘I am getting bored.’ ‘I have nothing to do.’ These aren’t any movie lines but thoughts that occur to us almost everyday. One thing that I definitely know is that people will rant how much they miss quarantine once we are back to our daily lives. Why take this situation or granted? There’s so much that we can do at our homes. It’s ironical how people who always wanted to spend time at home are desperate to go outside. But isn’t life itself an irony?

Most of us are at our homes, on our mobile phones, sitting with miserable faces on how bored and annoyed we are. And here’s a fact for you, nobody else can change your situation, except for your own self. If you’re bored, try to get your creative juices flowing. Pick that makeup brush that has been laying in your drawer from months, waiting to be used; try that recipe of your mother’s favorite dish that you’ve wanted to make for her since forever; read that book; write the story that has been wandering in your mind as a tiny idea; practice that dance routine; get started with a healthy lifestyle. There are many things that you can do for yourself, to make yourself happy.

We have so much time at hand that we might damage our mental health. If we don’t take care of our mental health, it’ll seem as if a train went right through our mental health. We don’t want that now, do we? One of the best ways to take care of our mental health right now is by engaging ourselves in that task that makes us the happiest. It could be anything, and it is totally alright if you’re not good at it, because there is no one watching you. You are the doer and you’re the only one to watch. It’s okay to make mistakes because they only help you in getting better at what you’re doing. Do not be harsh at yourself. Let’s use this time to communicate, to make sure we are aware of ourselves, our surroundings and our loved ones.

Use this time for yourself. Be safe and stay happy. Don’t be afraid to try new things and of making mistakes. 🙂
